Welcome to the Forbes Flatlands Hang Gliding Championships 2026 where the skies become a stage for camaraderie, competition, and adventure! This event is more than just a hang gliding competition - it's a celebration of our shared passion for flight and a platform for pilots of all levels to soar to new heights.

Our goal is twofold: to create a welcoming environment where new and aspiring pilots can experience the thrill of competitive flying while being mentored by seasoned pros, and to offer a world-class challenge to our most experienced pilots. Whether you're stepping into the sport class for the first time or you’re an open class veteran seeking a test of skill and endurance, this competition is designed with you in mind.

Where: BMIA Bill Moyes International Airport (The paddock north of the Forbes Airport) Via 'Dr Young Drive'

Sanction:
FAI Cat 2 and SAFA AAA for Open Class and FAI Cat 2 for Sport Class

*Sports class will have their own task set each day.

What you need:

• Hang Glider (well maintained!)
• Harness (well maintained)
• GPS or GPS/vario
• Tow release and bridle
• Recently repacked parachute
• Helmet
• Current SAFA membership
• VHF Rating and equipment (more info)
• Aerotow Rating

Cost: $450 (Due 25/11/25)

Entry Fee: Includes Welcome dinner, Presentation dinner and Trophies.

Aerotow Fee: $500 (Due 25/12/25) which includes unlimited tows and site fees for 9 days.
